Hi all, does anyone know of any disabled social networks where I can meet people with all types of disabilities?

not sure of any myself, but you could try googling "social networks for people with disabilities"

There used to be Blinknation but that site got hacked into and I'm not sure it'll ever be back online. Pity, because in some wayys I liked it better than the Zone.

I kind of do but it's more for those who are mentally disabled already someone said it and I joined it just to check it out. and I am interested anyway. as I want to work in the field somehow.

For people who have lost sight, there is BrighterNights.org
I joined because I know a couple people on there and I read their perspectives on things. It's a group that does include spouses or family or friends also, more of a open place, and lots of it I don't personally get seeing as I am a lifer, but can appreciate their challenges.
Not real active a place, not like Fakebook or this place or Twitter but still.
And for those who pooh pooh the idea, why not? People join hobbies-based social networks and other types of interest-oriented things, so why not? The mailing lists I get mail from are from the Coast Guard and a local birds forum local to my geographic area. Just because you join up with a group that either interests or affects you does not make you less of a human being, chilluns.

You go Leo! You tell it like it is! :) I've heard of a disability dating web site but you had to pay in order to message people though I thought it was an interesting idea. However, I don't know anything beyond that. Good luck though and keep us posted!

I was curious to know about any disability social networks myself when I read this discussion, and so I Googled it and found one that seems interesting. I haven't joined, but I'm thinking about it. It's at:
http://www.blueverse.net
. I only looked in one place though and found that site from a suggestion to someone else asking about the same thing. So that's the only one I know of at the moment.

I refuse to join sites where you have to pay just to message people.

Was that about the site I mentioned, or were you say that for in general.? Just asking because I didnt see anything saying you had to pay to message people. *smile* Either way, I wouldn't want to join a site like that either.
